SUMMARY

This article outlines several steps for troubleshooting problems related to using terminals with FoxPro for UNIX.

MORE INFORMATION

If you experience a problem while dealing with terminals, check these items:

1. FoxPro for UNIX runs reliably at 9600 baud only. If the baud rate

for the terminal is higher, change it to 9600.

2. When using Digiboards, DTR handshaking has been successfully used by
several customers. For more information on this, please see the
following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

   ARTICLE-ID: Q120022
TITLE : How to Correct Repainting Problems with Digiboard

3. FoxPro for UNIX may need to be started with either the -i or -o
switch. For more information on startup switches, please see the
following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

   ARTICLE-ID: Q121868
TITLE : Startup Switches for FoxPro for UNIX

4. A different TERM or FOXTERM environment variable value may need to
be used to achieve better display results. For more information on
setting TERM and FOXTERM, please see the following article in the
   Microsoft Knowledge Base:

   ARTICLE-ID: Q118913
TITLE : How to Set the FOXTERM Environment Variable

5. The terminal setup, usually accessed by some keystroke, must be similar
to that for the TERM or FOXTERM environment variables. For example,
if the terminal in use is a Wyse 60, the Wyse 60's setup (usually
accessed with the SHIFT+SELECT keystroke combination) must be set for
a Wyse 60. For example, TERM could be wy60, and FOXTERM could be
   wy60fox-pc.
