SUMMARY

There is no menu command or push button in Catalog Manager to return the Active Table/Query line to <None>.

However, the methods described below force Catalog Manager to close either the database or the query currently in use.

When a new catalog is created, the Active Table/Query line at the top of Catalog Manager displays the value <None>. Once a table or query has been used, that table name or query name is listed in the Active Table/Query line until it is removed, or until a new table or query is selected.

Complete one of the following procedures to set the Active Table/Query line to <None>.

Remove, Then Re-Add the Table or Query in Use

If the table or query in use is not the data source for any of the screens, reports, or labels, do the following:

1. Select the appropriate tab (either Table or Query). From the File list,

   select the table or query that is currently in use.

2. From the File menu, choose Remove File. When you are prompted to remove

   the file, verify that the Delete File From Disk check box is cleared
   (not selected), and then choose Remove.

3. Choose Add. Select the table or query that you removed in step 2 above,

   and then choose Add.

Add a New Table or Query, Use It, Then Remove It

If the table or query in use is the data source for any of the screens, reports, or labels, it cannot be removed. If another table or query that is not currently part of the catalog is available, do the following:

1. Select the appropriate tab (either Table or Query).

2. Choose Add. Select a table or query that is not currently in the

   catalog, and then choose Add.

3. Select the table or query that you have just added, and then choose Use.

4. From the File menu, choose Remove File. When you are prompted to remove

   the file, verify that the Delete File From Disk check box is cleared
   (not selected) and that the file selected for removal is the table
    or query that you added in step 2 above.

5. Choose Remove.

Begin to Create a New Query, Then Cancel It

If the table or query in use is the data source for any of the screens, reports, or labels, it cannot be removed. If all other available tables or queries are part of the current catalog, do the following:

1. Select the Query tab. Choose New, then choose New Query.

2. Save the query as TEMP.QPR.

3. When you are prompted to select and open a .DBF file, choose Cancel.

4. Close the RQBE dialog box.
