ID: Q107832

The information in this article applies to:

There is a difference in the maximum grid (pixels) setting between FoxPro for Macintosh and FoxPro for Windows.

To observe this difference, do the following:

1. In FoxPro for Macintosh, choose New from the File menu and create a new

   report.

2. From the Report menu, choose Ruler/Grid.

3. Click the up arrow on the horizontal (H) spinner until the numbers stop

incrementing. The maximum value is 36.

4. Click the up arrow on the vertical (V) spinner until the numbers stop
incrementing. The maximum value is 36.

5. Repeat steps 1 through 4 in FoxPro for Windows. The maximum value for
both the horizontal and vertical grids is 48.

The difference between the maximum values is a consequence of the variance between the number of pixels per inch between applications running on different platforms. The Windows standard is 96 pixels per inch, whereas the Macintosh standard is 72 pixels per inch.
