PRB: "Record Not Available" Error on IBM PC LAN 1.34

SYMPTOMS

When FoxPro/LAN version 2.0 or FoxPro 2.5 or 2.5a is run on a machine with MS-DOS version 5.0 and IBM PC LAN version 1.34, erroneous "Record not available ... Please wait" error messages scroll through a WAIT window that appears in the upper-right portion of the screen.

CAUSE

This error may be caused by IBM PC LAN 1.34's file handling or locking mechanism.

RESOLUTION

IBM has released REDIR50.EXE, a patch for its redirector file that corrects the problem. To obtain this patch, call IBM Customer Service at (800) 237-5511.
