SYMPTOMS

When FoxPro attempts to parse an SQL statement that has a join on an empty cursor, an error type 1 message may be generated. This seems to be both processor and operating system dependent.

NOTE: This behavior does not occur in Visual FoxPro 3.0b for Macintosh.

MORE INFORMATION

The above issue has been seen to occur with processor Floating Point Units. However it does not occur on PowerMac computers or with certain combinations of computer and system software. The issue has occurred on IIci's running system 7.0.1, and Centris 650's running system 7.5. testing has not been done using a software Floating Point Unit.

WORKAROUND

Use Insert Into to put a single record into the cursor.

STATUS

Microsoft is researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
