PRB: Lines, Borders, Boxes, Etc., Don't Appear in Screen

ID: Q102594

The information in this article applies to:

SYMPTOMS

Lines, borders, boxes, circles, and ellipses created with the @ ... TO PEN command (such as those created with the Screen Designer) do not appear when the screen is executed.

CAUSE

If SET("BORDER")="NONE", items created with @ ... TO PEN will not appear when the screen is executed.

RESOLUTION

To restore the default borders, issue the SET BORDER TO command without any additional arguments.

MORE INFORMATION

The SET BORDER command defines a border for popups created with DEFINE POPUP and for windows created with DEFINE WINDOW.

When FoxPro is started, the default border for FoxBASE+ style popups is a double line. All other objects (windows, popups created with DEFINE POPUP, and so on) default to a single-line border. If you issue SET BORDER TO SINGLE or SET BORDER TO DOUBLE, all objects, including FoxBASE+ style popups, are drawn with a single- or double-line border, respectively. In FoxPro for Windows, the DOUBLE option creates a PANEL border for popups and windows; the <border string> option is ignored.

NOTE: SET BORDER does not affect boxes created with the @ ... BOX command.
