SYMPTOMS

Use of a Video 7 VRAM II Ergo video card may cause the FoxPro screen to fill with random characters. The problem might only occur with FoxPro; other applications might not cause these symptoms to appear.

The diagnostics that come with the video card may report a memory error.

CAUSE

The Video 7 VRAM II Ergo video card is configured to have 0 wait states as a default. It must be configured to have 1 wait state in order to work properly with FoxPro (and to prevent the diagnostics from reporting the memory error).

RESOLUTION

For information on changing the wait state for the card, refer to the Video 7 documentation.
