The SET STATUS ON | OFF and SET STATUS BAR ON | OFF commands activate two different styles of the status bar.
The SET STATUS ON | OFF command displays or removes a status bar compatible with Microsoft FoxPro for MS-DOS.
NOTE: In FoxPro for Windows, the command SET DISPLAY TO VGA25 or SET DISPLAY TO VGA50 will have the effect of SET STATUS OFF.
The SET STATUS BAR ON | OFF command displays or removes a status bar typical of applications developed for the Microsoft Windows or Macintosh environment. This is the default FoxPro for Windows or FoxPro for Macintosh status bar which is displayed at startup if STATUS is set ON. The default SET STATUS BAR setting is ON.
Either status bar can display the clock.
The SET STATUS BAR ON | OFF command supports a TIMEOUT TO <expN> clause that determines how long the status bar displays system messages and command results. Messages and command results are displayed if SET STATUS BAR is ON and SET TALK is ON.
