FP98: Page Display Incorrect or Slow in Navigation View

SYMPTOMS

When you use Navigation view on a very large web, you may experience the following problems:

  • The view is drawn incorrectly
  • Scroll bars stop working
  • When you manipulate pages, the screen takes a long time to be refreshed

CAUSE

This behavior occurs when there are more than 200 child pages below the parent page.

RESOLUTION

In the case of large Webs, divide the large Web into smaller Webs (for example, you could break the Webs up according to subject material).

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
