This article describes how to use the AutoComplete feature in Internet Explorer. The AutoComplete feature suggests matches for Internet addresses as you type them, and can suggest matches for folders and program names as you type them in the Address box.

To use the AutoComplete feature to automatically complete an Internet address, start typing the address in the Address box. If you have visited the site before, the AutoComplete feature suggests a match as you type. To accept the match, press ENTER.

If you are using the Web Integrated Desktop, the AutoComplete feature also suggests matches for folder and program names as you type them in the Address box.

To turn off the AutoComplete feature, follow these steps:

  1. On the View menu, click Internet Options.

  2. Click the Advanced tab.

  3. Under Browsing, click the Use AutoComplete check box to clear it.

  4. Click OK.
