New Mail Message Does Not Reflect HTML Source Code Changes

SYMPTOMS

When you cancel sending a Web page as a mail message, edit the HTML source code of the Web page, and then try to send the Web page again, the Web page in the mail message does not reflect the changes you have made.

RESOLUTION

To work around this problem, follow these steps:

  1. Quit Microsoft Internet Explorer and Outlook Express.

  2. Start Internet Explorer, and then navigate to the Web page you want to send.

  3. On the File menu, point to Send, and then click Page As Email.

    NOTE: Do not edit the HTML source code of the Web page prior to performing step 4.

  4. Click Send.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Outlook Express version 4.0 for Windows95 and Windows NT 4.0. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
