SUMMARY

By default, Microsoft Internet Mail and News does not automatically add signature text to the end of outgoing messages. This article describes how to set up Internet Mail and News to automatically add signature text to the end of outgoing messages.

To automatically add signature text to the end of outgoing messages in Internet Mail and News, use the following steps:

  1. Click Start, point to Programs, and then click Internet Mail or Internet News.

  2. On the Mail menu in Internet Mail, or on the News menu in Internet News, click Options.

  3. Click the Signature tab.

  4. Click Text, and then type the signature text you want to use.

  5. Click the "Don't add signature to Replies and Forwards" check box to clear it.

  6. Click OK.

NOTE: The signature features in Internet Mail and Internet News work independently of each other. To enable this feature in both programs, you must follow the steps above in both programs.
