To set up multiple e-mail accounts and separate address books in Internet Mail, follow these steps:

  1. Enable user profiles. If you have already enabled user profiles, skip to step 2.

    a. Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then

          double-click Passwords.
    

    b. Click the User Profiles tab, and then click "Users can customize

          their preferences and desktop settings. Windows switches to your 
          personal settings whenever you log in."
    

    c. Click OK. When you are prompted to restart the computer, do so.

    d. When you are prompted "You have not logged on at this computer

          before. Would you like this computer to retain your individual
          settings for use when you log on here in the future?" click Yes.
    

  2. If Internet Mail has not been installed, install it now. For information about obtaining Internet Mail and News, please see the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

  3. Start Internet Mail, configure it for the current user, and then quit Internet Mail. For information about configuring Internet Mail, please see the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

  4. Click the Start button, click Shut Down, click "Close all programs and log on as a different user," click Yes, and then log on a different user.

  5. Start Internet Mail, configure it for the current user, and then quit Internet Mail.

  6. Repeat steps 4-5 for each additional user.

  7. By default, the Windows Address Book used by Internet Mail and News is located in the Windows folder. The Address Book file is named <username>.wab, where <username> is the name with which you log on to Windows 95.
