SYMPTOMS

When you open a large newsgroup, there may be multiple references to previous topics in a non-threaded view.

CAUSE

The parent message, or the message that was replied to, is not available in the current view or is no longer on the server.

STATUS

Microsoft is researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

MORE INFORMATION

Internet News attempts to preserve the original relationship between articles and their replies. If a particular article does not have any visible parent message in the view, it becomes a root-level article.
