PRB: Global.asa Not Created When Creating New VI Project

SYMPTOMS

When creating a new Web Project, no Global.asa file is created. Additionally, 3 files with the extensions *.dsp, *.dsw, *.opt, and others appear in the "File View."

CAUSE

This problem occurs when you create a new Web Project in the directory that the Web Server uses to post files to (such as C:\inetpub\wwwroot).

RESOLUTION

Create a project in a directory that the Web Server does not use to publish files to (such as C:\program files\msdev\myprojects).

STATUS

This behavior is by design.
