The Properties view of the Open dialog box does not display the Hyperlink Base property for Microsoft Access databases. You can view this property in the Open dialog box in other Microsoft Office 97 applications.


RESOLUTION

You can view the Hyperlink Base property after you open the database. Open your database, and then on the File menu, click Database Properties.


STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Access 97.

Steps to Reproduce Behavior


  1. Start Microsoft Access and create a new blank database called TestHBase.mdb.


  2. On the File menu, click Database Properties, and then type something for each of the properties in the dialog box, including Hyperlink Base address.


  3. Close the database.


  4. On the File menu, click Open Database.


  5. Click the Properties button on the Open dialog box toolbar.


  6. Select the database file, TestHBase.mdb. Note that you can view properties, such as the Title, Subject, and Author, but not the Hyperlink Base property.
