ACC97: Tab Control Not Displayed Properly When Placed on OCX

SYMPTOMS

Moderate: Requires basic macro, coding, and interoperability skills.

When you place a Tab control on top of a Calendar control on a form, the Tab control is not displayed properly. The tabs of the Tab control are the only part of the control painted on top of the Calendar control. The rest of the Calendar control paints over the actual pages of the Tab control.

CAUSE

You cannot paste a Tab control onto a Calendar control object.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.

Steps to Reproduce Behavior

  1. Create a new form in Design view.

  2. On the Insert menu, click ActiveX control. In the Insert ActiveX Control dialog box, click the Calendar Control, and then click OK.

  3. Add a Tab control on top of the Calendar control, and then view the form in Form view.

    Note how the Tab control is not completely visible on the Calendar control.
