IMS: ABOOK: Address "abc@domain" Causes SQL Messages

SYMPTOMS

A quoted string is treated as a single entity. Abook should parse it as:

   "abc@domain"
   @
   local.domain

However, Abook tries to parse "abc@domain"@local.domain as

   "abc
   @
   domain"@local.domain

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Commercial Internet System (MCIS) version 1.0. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

In the Event Viewer, two events messages are generated:

   Description: The service causes the following SQL Server message:
        Message ID 170, State 1, Severity 15: Line 1: Incorrect syntax near
        '@acme.com'. Server: SERVERA

   Description: The service causes the following SQL Server message:
        Message ID 105, State 1, Severity 15: Unclosed quote before the
        character string ' '. Server: SERVERA
