INS: Listgroup May Not Return All Article Numbers

SYMPTOMS

When you issue the listgroup command against a group with a large number of articles, not return all of the article numbers are returned.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Commercial Internet Server version 1.0. A supported fix is now available, but has not been not fully regression tested and should be applied only to systems experiencing this specific problem. Unless you are severely impacted by this specific problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Service Pack that contains this fix. With the fix applied, listgroup uses the header of the .xix files to determine what the range of valid article numbers is within a newsgroup.
