MCIS: Membership Customer BMP Files Appear Distored or Degraded

SYMPTOMS

When a Windows 95 user upgrades Microsoft Internet Explorer version 3.0x for Membership DPA Authentication, bitmaps on Membership Broker System (MBS) Web sites may appear to be distorted or degraded. Note that this problem only affects Windows 95 clients and MBS Web sites. Other Web sites and Windows NT clients are not affected.

RESOLUTION

A fix is available from Microsoft for this problem. To obtain this please contact Microsoft Technical Support.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Commercial Internet System, version 1.0. A supported fix is now available, but has not been fully regression-tested and should be applied only to systems experiencing this specific problem. Unless you are severely impacted by this specific problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Service Pack that contains this fix.
