  • Microsoft Outlook 97

SYMPTOMS

When you set up a secondary calendar as a subfolder, the primary calendar options are retained and are applicable to that subfolder or alternate calendar.

CAUSE

Calendar options that require an action such as notification of conflicting appointments only apply to your primary calendar. The primary calendar is determined by the delivery location of your e-mail. Microsoft Outlook 97 applys these actions to only one calendar per user session. There is no mechanism apply these actions to other calendars.

MORE INFORMATION

To use another calendar as your primary calendar, change the delivery location of your e-mail. To change the delivery location of your e-mail follow these steps:

Change the Delivery Location of Your E-mail

  1. On the Tools menu, click Services.

  2. On the Delivery tab in the "Deliver new mail to the following location" click to select the new delivery location from the list.

  3. Click Apply and then click OK.

Steps to Reproduce Behavior

  1. Create a subfolder of the primary calendar folder.

  2. Double-click the subfolder and create an appointment, then click Save And Close.

  3. In the same subfolder create another appointment with the same time and day as the previous one.

RESULTS: You are never prompted that this is a conflicting appointment. This Behavior does not occur in the Primary Calendar.
