OL97: From and Received Fields Blank for Sent Items

SYMPTOMS

When you send a message from Microsoft Outlook 97, the From and Received fields of the message viewed in the Sent Items folder are blank.

CAUSE

Your Inbox and Sent Items folders are in a Personal Folder (PST) resident on your computer. The e-mail server that receives the message places the information for the From and Received fields.

RESOLUTION

To view data in the From and Received fields in a sent item message, you must use Microsoft Exchange Server and designate your mail to be delivered to the server Mailbox. The Sent Items are viewed on the server or in an Offline Folder that has been synchronized with the server mailbox.
