OL97: Help for IMEP Disappears After Installing Other Add-ins

SYMPTOMS

Help topics for the Internet Mail Enhancement Patch for Microsoft Outlook 97 (IMEP) may become unavailable after installing some Outlook add-ins, such as the Rules Wizard and the 3-Pane Extension.

CAUSE

Some Outlook add-ins, such as the Rules Wizard and the 3-Pane Extension, install earlier versions of the Help Table of Contents file, which do not include a reference to IMEP.

RESOLUTION

Reinstall the IMEP to restore the Help topics.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Internet Mail Enhancement Patch for Microsoft Outlook 97 (IMEP). We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
