Last reviewed: January 5, 1998
Article ID: Q178763
The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Outlook 97
  • Microsoft Windows NT 4.0

SYMPTOMS

When sending or receiving mail using Microsoft Outlook 97 with Cc:Mail Services, the time stamps for the received or sent mail messages may be off by as much as 5 hours. This only applies to Outlook on Microsoft Windows NT 4.0. The time and date stamps will be correct on Windows 95 computers.

CAUSE

This is a result of old Lotus Vim32.dll files dated 9/15/95 or earlier.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, obtain the latest Vim32.dll files from Lotus Corporation and copy them into the \Winnt\System32 folder. These can be found at:

   http://www2.support.lotus.com/ftp/pub/comm/ccmail/dev_tools/

Click vdlw32.zip to download the file to your computer.

The vdlw32.zip file is a compressed file. You will need to extract the files with a program such as PkUnzip or Winzip.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Outlook 97. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
