SUMMARY

When you use Anonymous account to log in to a standard FTP server, and for identification purposes, the server requests a password consisting of your Internet e-mail address (User@domain.org). This password is filled in automatically by the Web Proxy service when a web browser is used to connect to an FTP site.

Many web browers log into FTP sites automatically without asking for a username and password. Some FTP sites require a full e-mail address before they allow an anonymous log in. The Web Proxy service uses the domain portion of the host name of the local computer for the domain portion of the e-mail address.

If no Domain Name Server (DNS) is specified, "proxyuser@domain" will be sent as the password. If a domain is specified (for example, microsoft.com) proxyuser@microsoft.com will be used.

To change the DNS domain name, open the Control Panel, and double-click the Network applet. Select TCP/IP from the Protocol list. Select the DNS tab and fill in the Domain box with the correct domain name (for example, mydomain.com)
