BUG: Data in sysbackuphistory Table Not Shown in GUI Select

SYMPTOMS

When you do a "select * from sysbackuphistory" in the msdb database, the columns after operator_name show no data in the results set for table dumps. The columns contain data, but to see it you must select the individual fields, such as backupstart and backupfinish.

This problem only occurs in the GUI tools. Command line isql will display all the information in the results set.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft SQL Server version 6.5. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
