BUG: Repetitive BCP Batches May Cause Error 17805

SYMPTOMS

Repetitive bulk copy program (BCP) batches running on the same computer as SQL Server may fail. If this problem occurs, the client will receive the following error:

DBLIB 10025 Write to SQL Server failed.

Additionally, the SQL Server will receive the following error:
17805 Invalid buffer received from client.


WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, move the BCP process (that is, the client process) off of the SQL Server.


STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in SQL Server version 6.5.
