SUMMARY

Calls to SQL Server extended stored procedures are case sensitive. If you attempt to call an extended stored procedure in the wrong case, the following error is generated:

Cannot find the function 'XP_MSVER' in the library 'xpsql50.dll'


MORE INFORMATION

Extended stored procedures are implemented as a dynamic-link library (DLL) that was developed using the Open Data Service (ODS) API. Since the call functions with in a C DLL, the name of the extended stored procedure is case sensitive.

It does not matter what SQL Server sort order has been installed. All calls to extended stored procedures must be made in the proper case in which the extended stored procedure was defined.
