CROSSTABS.XLA Incorrectly Referred to in Lotus 1-2-3 Help

SUMMARY

The procedure for data distribution on the Lotus Help menu states: 

   See the Microsoft Excel User's Guide for information on the
   CROSSTABS.XLA add-in macro
There is no file called CROSSTABS.XLA. The word CROSSTABS is actually too long to be a DOS file. The actual file is called CROSSTAB.XLA (notice that the "S" is missing.)

With the Lotus Help feature turned on under the Workspace command in the Options menu, the "/" key brings up Lotus Help. From there, you can choose "D" for data, then "D" for distribution. At this point, you get the message listed above.

The Crosstabs macro does have the capacity to do the same commands as data distribution. However, you must know how to load it.

You should load CROSSTAB.XLA, which is located in the \EXCEL\QE subdirectory. Also, this file is not installed unless Q+E is installed during Setup.

Once you have loaded this file, you can choose Crosstabs from the Data menu to perform data distribution routines. To have Crosstabs load automatically, simply place the CROSSTAB.XLA file in the XLSTART directory.
