SUMMARY

Microsoft Excel version 1.00 was shipped on two 400K disks named "Excel Data" and "Excel Program", since 800K disk technology was not yet available.

Microsoft Excel versions 1.03 and 1.04 each were shipped on one 800K disk that contains the contents from both the "Excel Data" disk and the "Excel Program" disk.

The documentation for Excel version 1.04 points out this difference on page xvii of the "Getting Started" section of the "Microsoft Excel User's Guide."
