BUG: Components May Cause Errors When Using the WinNT Event Log

SYMPTOMS

A Visual Basic ActiveX DLL that logs to the Windows NT Event log may cause errors when called by a client program running in the Visual Basic debugger. Possible errors include:

  • Error 429.
  • OLE error 80010108.
  • Access violations.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Transaction Server version 1.0. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
