FIX: Long Path in Setup Causes a Problem with the Reset Log File

SYMPTOMS

During Setup, if you specify a path that exceeds the length of the text box provided for the installation directory name, you will not be able to reset the log file. Setup will complete, but the Distributed Transaction Coordinator will be unable to reset its log file.

CAUSE

The specified path is being truncated. You will then be unable to reset the log file size.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Transaction Server version 1.0. This problem was corrected in Microsoft Transaction Server version 1.1. For information on obtaining version 1.1, please see the following article the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
