Excel Err Msg: "Not Enough System Resources" with Oval Object

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Excel, if you copy and paste an oval object that is formatted with a pattern and shadow, you will receive the following error message

   Not enough system resources to display completely

even though Windows Program Manager reports that there are plenty of system resources available in Windows.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the versions of Microsoft Excel listed above. This problem was corrected in version 5.0 of Microsoft Excel for Windows.

MORE INFORMATION

This problem only occurs with oval objects that have been formatted with a pattern and shadow. This problem does not occur with other graphic objects.
