Excel: Aligning Text or Numbers at the Top of a Cell

SUMMARY

In Microsoft Excel version 3.00, to align text or numbers at the top of a cell, choose Alignment from the Format menu and select Wrap Text for that cell.

When a single-line text string is in the same row as multiple-line text strings or text with a large font, Excel defaults the text to align at the bottom of the cell. When Wrap Text is turned on, Excel moves the value to the top of the cell. (Note: This procedure also works for numbers.)

For more information on the Format Alignment command, see page 186 of the "Microsoft Excel User's Guide" version 3.0 manual.
