Excel: Can't List Subset of Files with FILE.DELETE Function

SUMMARY

Pages 217-218 of the "Microsoft Excel Functions and Macros" version 2.2 manual incorrectly state that the wildcard asterisk (*) character can be used in the FILE.DELETE? command function to represent any series of characters.

It also states that the formula =FILE.DELETE?(*XL?) lists all documents that contain the letters "XL". This formula returns "Error in formula."

There is currently no method to list a subset of documents in the Delete dialog box (on the File menu).
