Excel: COMMAND+= (Calculate Now) Acting Like an UP ARROW Key

SUMMARY

The Microsoft Excel key sequence equivalent for Calculate Now is COMMAND+= (EQUAL SIGN). When you press the EQUAL SIGN key on the keyboard, the function works properly. However, if you press the EQUAL SIGN key on the numeric keypad, Excel may interpret this key combination as an UP ARROW key.

This problem occurs when System version 4.1 or 4.2 is used on a Macintosh Plus. This problem does not occur when you use these versions of the System on either a Macintosh SE or Macintosh II.

System versions 3.2 and 3.3 do not exhibit this problem and may be used as start-up Systems with versions 1.04, 1.06, and 1.50 of Excel to enable the use of the EQUAL SIGN key on the numeric keypad on a Macintosh Plus.
