SUMMARY

After you have run the Microsoft Excel version 3.00 data consolidation feature, if not all of the categories appear in the consolidation report, check for the following:

  1. The range that was highlighted before you chose Consolidate from the Data menu was more than one cell, yet too small to display all of the possible categories. For best results, highlight only the top left cell of the range where the consolidation report is to be placed.

  2. The defined name Consolidation_Area is a range that is too small to contain all the possible categories. For best results, name only the top left cell in the area where the consolidation report is to be placed.

  3. The range or ranges specified in the Data Consolidation dialog box are invalid or incorrect. Verify that the ranges in the dialog box refer to the correct data on the worksheet.

For more information on data consolidation, see pages 325 to 327 of the "Microsoft Excel User's Guide" version 3.0 manual.
