Excel: Creating Chart with Logarithmic Category Axis

SUMMARY

In Microsoft Excel, to create a line chart with a logarithmic category (X) axis and a regular value (Y) axis, do the following:

  1. From the Gallery menu, choose Scatter.

  2. Select chart type 2.

  3. Click the category (X) axis.

  4. From the Format menu, choose Scale. (If you are using Excel version 1.50 or earlier, choose Axis from the Format menu.)

  5. Select the Logarithmic Scale option. Click OK.
