SUMMARY

In Microsoft Excel, the ECHO() command is used to suppress screen updates while a macro is running. If an ACTIVATE() command is used to switch between a worksheet and a chart while ECHO() is set to false, the menu bar will update although you will not see the newly activated file.

MORE INFORMATION

The ECHO() command prevents a redraw of the main Microsoft Excel window's client area. The client area of a window is the area of the window that does not include the area of the borders, title bar, and menu bar. As a result, the ECHO() command will have no effect on the updating of the menu bar.
