Excel: Entering Multiple Lines in an Input Box

In Microsoft Excel versions 4.x and earlier, although you can use ALT+ENTER to create a linefeed character in worksheet cells, this key combination does not work in input boxes created with the INPUT() function.

To enter multiple lines of information into an input box:

Enter the information and, at the end of each line, press the ALT key and type 010 (on the numeric keypad) to create a linefeed character.

When you release the ALT key, although the information is entered in the input box, it will not be visible. If you need to remove the linefeed character, it can be removed by using the BACKSPACE key.

Note that in order for the information to appear in a cell in a multiple- line format, you must apply the Wrap Text alignment feature to the cell.

NOTE: If you are using Microsoft Excel version 5.0, you must use this procedure to enter multiple lines of text in an input box created on a Microsoft Excel version 4.0 macro sheet.
