TECHNOTE.DLL and HLPTAB.DLL Not Copied to MSVC\HELP

The information in this article applies to:

• Microsoft Visual C++ for Windows, versions 1.0 and 1.5

The files TECHNOTE.DLL and HLPTAB.DLL are copied into the WINDOWS\SYSTEM or WINNT\SYSTEM directory, depending on whether Visual C++ is installed under Windows 3.x or Windows NT. This seems contrary to the packing list, which implies that the files are to be installed into the MSVC\HELP directory.

Note that this does not affect the functionality of the Technote Viewer or WinHelp. The third DLL listed as being installed in MSVC\HELP, PRINTDLL.DLL, is installed into the MSVC\HELP directory.
