Summary:

If rows or columns which underly a graphic object on a worksheet get deleted, that object might be resized such that it appears as a straight line or a point.

To prevent this from happening:

  1. Select the object or objects before deleting the worksheet cells.

  2. Choose Object Placement from the Format menu.

  3. Select the Don't Move or Size with Cells option and choose OK.

More Information:

Every graphic object has a setting which determines if it is moved and/or sized with the cells beneath it. If a graphic object is sized with the cells beneath it, deleting those cells causes the object to collapse to a straight line or a point.

To Delete a Graphic Object:

  1. Select the object (with the object selection tool, or by clicking).

  2. Press the delete key.
