DOCERR: TranslateMessage() Always Returns True

The information in this article applies to:

Microsoft Win32 Application Programming Interface (API) included with:

    - Microsoft Windows NT versions 3.5 and 3.51
    - Microsoft Windows 95 version 4.0

The Win32.Hlp online help documentation states that the TranslateMessage() function returns TRUE only if it posts a WM_CHAR message in the thread's message queue. However, it returns TRUE on all WM_KEYDOWN and WM_KEYUP messages, regardless of translation.

This is the same behavior that Microsoft Windows 3.1 exhibits. For compatibility with Microsoft Windows 3.1, the behavior of this API call was not changed to match the documentation.
