The Microsoft Excel Speak macro is not compatible with Apple System version 6.0.7 or later. If Excel Speak is run on System 6.0.7 or later, the Macintosh will hang when the System tries to beep (for example, when an alert box comes up).

MORE INFORMATION

Excel Speak is a Code Resource macro that makes System calls to the Apple utility MacinTalk. System 6.0.7 introduced a new sound resource generator that is incompatible with MacinTalk. Apple does not support the use of MacinTalk with System 6.0.7 or later.
