Excel: Only Values Pasted If Source File is Closed

Summary:

If you close a Microsoft Excel document between copying and pasting its contents into another document, only values are pasted. Formulas, cell notes, and formatting are lost. Excel only pastes these cell attributes if the source document remains open while you paste its copied cells into a destination document.
