SYMPTOMS

If your system has an STB Powergraph Ergo video card, and run Microsoft Excel for Windows, version 3.0 you may experience unrecoverable application errors (UAEs) with Microsoft Windows 3.0 or general protection (GP) faults in Windows 3.1

The Powergraph Ergo video card may also cause the system to stop responding (hang) if you use Microsoft Excel 3.0's Print Preview.

CAUSE

These symptoms are caused by problems in the video driver and the Ergo video card BIOS.

WORKAROUND

According to Simply the Best (STB) technical support, you should obtain the most recent version of the Windows video drivers for the Powegraph Ergo video card. The most recent drivers are available from the STB Bulletin Board Service (BBS), at (214) 437-9615. The file containing the drivers is STBWIN3.ZIP. For a fee, the drivers can also be obtained on a disk from STB.

If problems persist, you may need to update the BIOS on the video card. The most recent version of the video BIOS is version 1.6.
