SUMMARY

The Show Info command on the Window menu in Microsoft Excel is designed to display information about a single cell at a time. It is not possible to display information about more than one cell on the screen; however, it is possible to print this information:

  1. Select the range of cells for which you want to display information.

  2. From the Window menu, choose Show Info. In Excel 4.0 you can show the Info Window by choosing Info Window from the Options Workspace dialog. At this point, the information of the active cell in the selection will be displayed.

  3. With the Info window still active, choose Print from the File menu. Click OK.

The resulting printout will contain the information from every cell in the selection.

You cannot display information from all the cells in the selection on the screen (except in Print Preview). Also, it is important to note that information will be printed about every cell in the selection, whether or not that cell is part of the active work area. Therefore, selecting the entire worksheet would create a printout of 4,194,304 cells.
