  • Microsoft Excel for OS/2, versions 2.2, 2.21, 3.0

SUMMARY

By default, row heights on a worksheet in Microsoft Excel adjust to accomodate changes in font size. The row height increases or decreases, depending on the size of the largest font in the row. This behavior is disabled when a row height has been manually set or is not standard.

If a row height has been manually set, or is not standard, you can format a row so that the height adjusts to accomodate changes in font size by doing the following:

Microsoft Excel version 5.0

  1. Select the affected row or rows on the worksheet.

  2. From the Format menu, choose Row, and then choose AutoFit.

Microsoft Excel versions 2.x, 3.0 and 4.0

  1. Select the affected row or rows.

  2. From the Format menu, choose Row Height.

  3. Select the Standard checkbox and choose the OK button.

Note that in versions 2.x, 3.0 and 4.0 of Microsoft Excel, you can check to see if a row height is standard by choosing Row Height from the Format menu and seeing if the Standard checkbox is selected.
