  • Microsoft Word for Windows, version 2.0

SYMPTOMS

A document created in Word for Windows 2.0 under Windows 3.0 with an embedded equation may have some strange or unexpected symbols in it when opened and printed under the Windows. This will happen on any printer.

RESOLUTION

To correct this problem, bring up the Equation Editor (from the Insert menu, choose Object and then choose Equation) and choose File Update. The equation will then display and print correctly. Save the file with the updated changes.
