When used with Microsoft Windows version 3.0 Terminal, the Modem Default selection should be TrailBlazer. Symptoms of selecting the incorrect modem default include: - No modem recognition in Terminal. Terminal acts like everything is okay, but the modem does not respond. -and- - Perfect modem response outside Terminal. MORE INFORMATION ================ Ventel makes 30 different type of modems. All are Hayes compatible except the EC18K-34/Pathfinder Telebit. The EC18K-34/Pathfinder Telebit modem runs at a rate of 18,000 bytes per second (BPS) and can be pushed to 19,200 BPS when communicating with another EC18K-34/Pathfinder Telebit. When the EC18K- 34/Pathfinder Telebit modem communicates with a modem other than another EC18K-34/Pathfinder Telebit, both modems run at 2400 BPS. To set the modem default in Terminal, do the following: 1. From the Settings menu, choose Modem Commands. 2. Under Modem Defaults, select TrailBlazer. 3. Choose OK.
